Intermediate Knitting 1 – Poncho

Difficulty: Intermediate
Five week course

Intermediate Knitting 1: Poncho

Course Overview:

This class will build on Beginners knitting 1 and 2, and will incorporate the basics of knitting.  We will cast on, start the knitting project, and use the knit stitch as well as learning the purl stitch.  In using these two stitches we will make a simple structural pattern in our knitting.

Our goal is to make a poncho.

Course Outline:

We will use Rauma Yarns Alpakka Lin, which is a yarn made with a combination of alpaca and linen.  It is a soft and luxurious yarn that works well for lighter garments.

Alpakka Lin is available in 21 colors, so there is a great variety to work with and you are certain to find your favorite.  We do not carry all the colors in our store, but we have a great color chart and can order by request.

The class will meet once a week for 1 1/2 -2 hours for five weeks.

  • 8-10 hours of professional instruction
  • 4 skeins of yarn
  • finished poncho
