Intermediate Knitting 2: Knitted T-Top

Course Overview:

In this intermediate-level class, we will incorporate casting on, the knit stitch, top-down knitting, raglan, German short rows, and casting off to create a knitted t-top.

Course Outline:

Students will use their knitting skills to create this knitted top. We will be using Pelini yarn, which consists of 50% pima cotton and 50% linen, a combination that gives the garments both the cool and dry feeling of the linen combined with the softness of the cotton. Pelini comes in 35 different colors.  We don’t carry all the colors at our store, but we have a great color chart and can order any color at any time.

The top is a simple and quick-knitted short T-top in raglan style. It has a loose and airy feel. Best of all, no assembly! The top is knitted from top to bottom and can therefore be easily adapted in length. The raglan is knitted so that it becomes like a hole pattern – a nice little detail.

The class will meet once a week for 1 1/2-2 hours for five weeks.

  • 8-10 hours of professional instruction
  • 4-6 skeins of yarn (depending on size)
  • finished T-top
